A design initiative centered on transforming a warehouse into a dynamic connection point between a design college and a fine arts college. Inspired by the Bauhaus movement, the project emphasizes unity and collaboration through spatial weaving—both physically and conceptually. Elevated walkways, influenced by Anni Albers’ textile work, interlace the structure, fostering interaction between disciplines. The design moves beyond rigid geometries, instead using materiality and circulation to create a rhythmic, flowing experience that strengthens the relationship between art and design.

Floor one contains public spaces dedicated to learning, sharing projects, and fostering a sense of community. Floor two serves as a transitional level between the public and academic areas of the building. Floor three houses studio spaces, areas for small critiques, and environments designed to support interdisciplinary study.

The structural scaffolding that knits the three parts together follows the language of both the Gray Design Building and Art and Visual Studies Building. The facade of the SAVS building features the same crosses of I beams used as both a structural element and visual appeal.
